System One polish was developed by Tom Horvath in 1996, inspired by a visit to his wife’s workplace at an eyeglass manufacturing facility. There, he observed a machine that transformed sanded lenses into optically clear glasses using a single product. This experience led him to envision a similar solution for the automotive industry, aiming to simplify the paint correction process.   At the time, automotive professionals typically used multiple products for buffing, often resulting in swirl marks and requiring extensive cleanup. Horvath’s innovation, System One, introduced a single-product polishing system that eliminated the need for traditional compounds. Launched at the NACE (National Autobody Congress & Exposition) in 2001 and promoted through Pro Paint & Body in 2002, System One quickly gained global recognition for its efficiency and effectiveness.  System One’s success led to the establishment of CSI (Clearcoat Solutions Inc.), where Horvath continued to innovate. In 2008, CSI introduced Ceram-X, a product that further enhanced polishing capabilities. By 2024, the formula evolved into Ceram-XX, offering increased cutting ability while maintaining a high-quality finish.   Today, System One remains a staple in the detailing industry, known for its ability to simplify the polishing process and deliver swirl-free finishes with a single product. Its legacy continues through CSI’s ongoing commitment to innovation and quality in automotive care.
